The day I took these photographs, my family and I biked the trails that led to this beautiful city park. A rhythmic and strong voice met us as our feet touched the sidewalk.
I was expecting to rest my eyes on an ordinary street performer. But instead, I saw a lady wearing a bright red jumpsuit and earphones. She was belting out new tunes as often as the songs changed on her sound track.
Although she seemed mentally challenged; I marveled at how bold she was. She “rocked” her thing, no matter what. So I decided to “rock” mine. I whipped out my camera and took a few pictures. Yes, a number of people stared. But I just kept doing what my heart led me to do.
Isn’t it funny how inspiration can come from some very unlikely places? In fact, were it not for the lady in red, these photos would not exist. So don’t hesitate to stand up and stand out when inspiration hits you. By doing so, you will inspire not only yourself, but countless others.
Meditations To Journal:
Who inspires you the most and why? Who have you inspired? In the past, has fear caused you to shrink into the background? How did you overcome it? What would the older you say to the younger you about being bold? How can you use your uniqueness to point others to God?
2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.-Edith Wharton
