Seek And You Shall Find

Have you ever wondered why sometimes the very thing you seek, you often do not find? For instance, many people have said that once they stopped looking for someone special, that’s when they actually found them. Some people have spent their entire lives seeking wealth only to have it elude them. Yet, many others who were just simply following their passions have unintentionally stumbled upon fame and fortune. When our desires are out of harmony with the will of God, our most painful experiences can often be linked to what we crave the most. The lack of something I could care less about doesn’t hurt me but throw my hopes, dreams and desires into the mix, and raw emotions, passions and pain bubble forth. The enemy is an expert at using our desires and twisting them into something toxic and lethal. Mercifully, the antidote is found at Luke 11:9 where Jesus said, “…seek and ye shall find…”. There are so many things in this world that may elude us, but God is not one of them. He invites us to look for him wholeheartedly and then he promises that we will find him (Jeremiah 29:13). The amazing thing is that once we have found Him, we won’t need to search for anything else because he becomes our everything. Now, I admit that I have spent my fair share of time seeking things that were not God’s best for my life, but instead of letting those experiences go to waste, he uses them to draw me even closer to himself. Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek the kingdom of God above all else and live righteously and he will give you everything you need.” So when you find yourself seeking “something”, seek God first,┬ábecause it is only in him that you shall find.

  1. In this world system it teaches us to be self sufficient to depend on your education, wealth, influence We have not learned in this society to put GOD first and rely on HIM to take care of us totally and completely

    1. Yes, you are so right. When I was younger, I believed what the world was teaching and I fell flat on my face. I’m glad I did because it got my attention. Now I can see God’s grace more fully in my life.

  2. If We put God first..whatever we are searching for..if it is the father’s will…we will surely have it..praise God!!!

    1. Amen to that! We worry about nothing don’t we? Especially, when all we need to do is exactly what you said, “Put God first!”

    1. Thank you so much! So good to reconnect with you. We will keep in touch and I can’t wait. God bless.
